About Swanfish

Swanfish is Perth’s Premier family friendly fishing event held on the banks of the Swan River, Perth WA. The annual event is all about encouraging families to sample the excellent fishing on offer in our iconic Swan River. It is a 'catch, click and release' event where participants take a picture of their catch, submit their catches via a Smartphone App before releasing the fish.

Registrants can fish anywhere in the Swan and Canning Rivers, upstream off the Fremantle Traffic Bridge with the official fishing period beginning at 9:00am on Saturday 23rd February, ending at 9:00am on Sunday 24th February.
Once the fishing period has ended, participants are to make their way to the presentations held at Garvey Park, Ascot where the results will be tallied ready for a 10am presentation start time.
Activities on the day (at Garvey Park) include:
- BBQ breakfast/morning tea (9:30am start).
- Casting challenge.
- Fishability fishing clinic for participants requiring assistance when fishing (8am – 9:00am during fishing period).
- Various raffles (cash only).
- Lucky prize draw (Swanfish participants name and unique identifier code will be used to generate the draw, participant must be present to claim prize).
- MOB fishing Australia pop up store.
- Getaway Outdoors Hobie demonstrations.
- Get hooked clothing pop up store.
- Fisheries WA education marquee.
- Catches of the day displayed on projector screen.
